Sehr interessantes Interview mit T.F. Mous, Regisseur von Men Behind The Sun und Black Sun - The Nanking Massacre.
Tatsächlich haben sie die Leiche eines echten Jungen gezeigt im Film!
Shooting on Man Behind the Sun was stopped and I went to see the parents of the dead child. I explained to them that I needed to film the police autopsy and what the film was about. The parents replied that although their son was dead, they were happy to have him cut apart in the film as it was their way of doing something positive for the Chinese people
Und ein chinesischer Produzent wollte einen Star à la Chow Yun Fat für den Film haben
The producer pleaded with me to have a big Hong Kong actor such as Chow-Yun Fat and give the film an identity.
Zur Katzen Szene ob echt oder nicht:
I know the English love animals – I like animals too. As the director, that scene has a meaning – it’s up to you to discover what it means. I’d like to change the subject, if at all possible.
Über die Zensur zum Film
The censor agreed that I could cut the film personally, but they asked me to edit a little so that I could save them ‘face’ [note: A Chinese term for personal pride and honour].
Sehr interessant das Interview. Zwei Seiten.
